Do you know how much bandwidth is used in your company for business reasons and which is wasted? Do you know which users are downloading the most data, and whether it is work-related or not? Is your server overheating? Do you have sufficient hard-drive space available?
Without a dedicated monitoring service, questions like these are virtually impossible to answer. But MTN Business has the solution: MTN Infrastructure & Application Monitoring.
We can provide your business with a service which offers a speedy response to failures and proactive management of capacity to prevent failures. It brings all the benefits of monitoring at a new, greatly reduced cost point. This service can be delivered as a stand-alone service or part of a complete suite of Infrastructure Management Solutions using the Sourcing Operations Management Architecture (OMA).
The outputs of application monitoring are simply treated the same as any other output: variable over time, pushed into the decision engine for analysis and stored for display and analysis. Also our expert system can easily find the problem of transactions in any month, helping to focus the work administrators and operators.
Key benefits include:
- Scalability : Delivered as a stand-alone service or part of a complete suite of Infrastructure Management Solutions
- Peace of Mind : Maintain control of your own infrastructure
- Reliability : Speedy response to failures and proactive management of capacity.
- Increased Productivity : Practical, valuable insight, at-a-glance, of your IT environment.
- Cost Reduction : Benefit from our market beating cost point - lower than building in-house, and decrease the total cost of support and ownership
The system interfaces with the devices you would like monitored and then ‘asks’ a continual stream of questions in real-time; the answers to which are then analysed and reported on. It provides an easy to understand diagnosis of capacity utilisation, performance and availability of your IT environment.
It gathers information from the IT environment and related components of the enterprise, makes decisions as to what to do with the information gathered, and then stores the information for viewing and analysis. The information gathered is presented with full history in a variety of ways that may be appropriate to the viewer. This includes technology and business views of the information gathered.
Each monitored device has its own Monitoring Profile, and when the device is scanned, the unique features of that device are picked up automatically. This creates a highly specific and detailed device profile.
One of the key differentiations of the system is its ability to understand the difference between capacity, availability, performance and incident information. Our target is to produce less than one incident per device per week, which is significantly lower than any other system. The information derived from the system is processed through the decision engine.
The standard configuration consumes less than 1% of the CPU of any machine on monitoring at any one time. The network bandwidth consumed is 1.5k on the WAN and 2k on the LAN. The load is typically non-intrusive and tends to give way to other applications.
