We have 2 amazing deals to suit your individual needs and budget.
- Affordable
- You pay lowest rates on both ADSL and mobile internet bundles.
- Personalised service from a single service provider
- We’re on call to discuss the unique needs of your business with you and provide you with the best, tailored solution for your business from a range of telecommunications products and services.
- Failover cover
- Your USB modem allows your business to remain constantly connected to the internet by seamlessly connecting to our 3G network if you disconnect from your primary ADSL connection.
- The flexibility of wireless connectivity
- Connect to the internet wherever you are as the CISCO router does not rely on the USB modem to provide connectivity. While your staff works in the office connected to an ADSL via your CISCO router, you can use the USB modem to connect and work just about anywhere.
- Cost control
- These solutions allow you to top up with additional mobile Internet bundles as and when you need to (applicable to TopUp packages).
- Constant connectivity
- Even if you reach your ADSL cap and deplete your mobile internet bundle, you will remain connected to the internet via mobile access at out-of-bundle-rates, or you can load more mobile internet vouchers.
- Convenience
- This converged offering provides both ADSL and mobile internet access in a single offering.
- Premium products
- We offer ADSL to our clients on a dedicated line on a no-share basis, which means that you get the best connectivity rate and that your business is the ONLY user on the connection.

Experience it now
MTN Business will connect with your existing ADSL line using a dual mode (ADSL and GSM) CISCO Router, providing you with plug-and-play Wi-Fi and/or LAN access in your office on the back of a single ADSL connection from Telkom.
Additionally, you'll also be provided with a USB modem which, used in conjunction with the CISCO Router, facilitates always-on connectivity should your ADSL line go down for any reason. This failover functionality means you can rely on your internet connection to keep your business operating at 100% productivity. It also means that you can access the internet even when you're out of the office.
MTN Business Converged Services mean you only need one contract for both ADSL and mobile internet.
While Converged Services comprises ADSL, mobile internet, dual mode (ADSL and GSM) CISCO Routers, USB modems, Wi-Fi and LAN technology, you don't have to worry about any of that. This is how the solution is used:
| • |
The ADSL line into your CISCO Router is your primary connection to the internet, and the mobile internet connection is your secondary connection. |
| • |
The mobile internet connection (secondary) can also be set up as a failover so that your business is always connected. |
| • |
The CISCO Router also allows you to connect using wireless to multiple devices throughout your office. |
| • |
The GSM modem can be unplugged and used to connect a laptop to the internet out of the office environment. |
| • |
The CISCO Router is also compatible with VoIP, so you can easily connect a dect VoIP phone to the internet. |
We’ll take care of the hardware while you take care of business.
Important: You will already need an ADSL connection into your business.
To understand what each technology can do for your business, please read the following definitions:
- What is ADSL?
- ADSL broadband or Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line technology is a means of transmitting digital information at high bandwidth down existing copper telephone cable. It is permanently 'switched on', unlike normal dial-up access, and is asymmetric in that it uses most of the available bandwidth downstream. This makes it particularly suitable for applications where customers expect to receive more data than they transmit such as for web browsing, use of corporate intranets and reception of digital audio-visual material. The technology also supports analogue connections on the same line, which enables voice or fax calls to be made simultaneously.
- What is mobile internet?
- The term ‘mobile internet’ refers to high-speed wireless internet connections and services designed to be used from arbitrary locations. It is a broad term that encompasses all sorts of wireless technologies and devices, including cellular communications, networking between computers with wireless adapters and wireless computer accessories. Wireless communications travel over the air via electromagnetic waves (radio frequencies, infrared, satellite etc). Types of 3G broadband include Enhanced Data GSM Environment (EDGE), EV-DO and High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA). WiMax and LTE represent 4G broadband.
- What is a router?
- A router is a device that forwards data packets along networks. A router is connected to at least two networks, commonly two LANs or WANs or a LAN and its ISP’s network. Routers are located at gateways, the places where two or more networks connect, and are the critical devices that keep data flowing between networks and keep the networks connected to the internet.
When data is sent between locations on one network or from one network to a second network, the data is always seen and directed to the correct location by the router.
- What is a USB modem?
- While the term ‘USB modem’ refers to any type of data/fax/voice modem device which can be connected to a computer using USB, the term more commonly describes a specific portable USB device that looks similar to a USB flash drive and can be as small as 100 x 35 x 23mm in physical size and weigh only around 25g. These small, portable USB fax modems do not require a power source and can be plugged into any USB port on your PC, notebook or Macintosh computer and can also be disconnected from the computer without turning off the system. One end of the portable USB modem will have a USB interface, while the other end will have an RJ-11 port for connecting your phone line.
- What is Wi-Fi?
- Wi-Fi is a type of wireless networking protocol that allows devices to communicate without cords or cables. Wi-Fi is technically an industry term that represents a type of wireless local area network (LAN) protocol based on the 802.11 IEEE network standards. It's the most popular means of communicating data wirelessly, within a fixed location, today.
- What is LAN?
- A local area network (LAN) consists of two or more computers connected together in a building or home using software and hardware. A LAN is contrasted to a wide area network (WAN) such as the internet, which covers a large geographic area. In a LAN, there is a main computer or server, and remote computers called clients. By creating a LAN in the home or office, computers on the LAN can share files, resources and, if desired, an internet connection. A LAN can be one of two types: wired or wireless. A wired LAN requires Ethernet cable to physically connect all computers on the network to a main device called a switch. A wireless LAN uses radio waves to communicate, eliminating the need for wires. Therefore, the hardware used in a LAN should all be of either the wireless or wired type.
